GeneSight® is an advanced genetic testing tool for mental health treatment recommendations. With this test, your Revive Therapeutic Services psychiatrist determines exactly how your body responds to medication and  which medication is best for your specific DNA makeup. GeneSight testing saves you a great deal of trial-and-error when it comes to getting the relief you need.

In a clinical study of the GeneSight psychotropic test, patients saw a 50% improvement in symptom relief when compared to patients who pursued a normal course of non-customized treatment.

WHAT KIND OF GENESIGHT TESTING IS AVAILABLE?

  • The psychotropic GeneSight test analyzes your body’s response to drugs for neuropsychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and bipolar disorder. It shows results for dozens of common neuropsychiatric drugs like Wellbutrin®, Xanax®, Prozac®, and Ambien®.

  • The ADHD test analyzes your body’s response to attention  deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medications, including both  stimulants and nonstimulants. This test clearly shows which drugs are  more likely to trigger side effects and which are most likely to be  effective based on your specific DNA.

How does GeneSight testing work?

GeneSight testing is quick and easy. You’ll simply swab the  inside of your cheek to collect the DNA sample before sending it directly to  the GeneSight clinical lab for analysis.

When will I get GeneSight results?

The GeneSight lab sends the test results to your Revive Therapeutic Services provider in less than 36 hours, and you’ll review the results with your doctor. Your provider discusses your personalized treatment plan with you, and you can begin treatment right away.

What is the Cost?

Many commercial and government insurance plans reimburse for all or part of  the cost of the GeneSight test. Schedule an appointment and ask your psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for more details and ask your psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for more details.
